Where Is My Mind?

Can there be an ever more anguished, 

perplexed-sounding, 

inquisitive to the infinite degree 

QUESTION 

than this one right here: 

WHERE IS MY MIND? 

Talk about LANGUISHING... 

this self-questioning of the sublime kind 

was first done in... Boston! 

(And, if you know me, 

you know I credit Boston 

as being the unofficial 

center of the universe ~ 

thanks to Harvard, M.I.T. and 

Fenway Park - of course.) 

But let's get back to 

THE QUESTION: 

and let's try to answer it! 

It is this blog's life mission, 

after all... 

Its raison d'être...!!!

(Pardon the French, Pixies!) 

Could thy mind be found...

in an alternative realm, perhaps? 

Have you LOST your mind - maybe? 

(Too many shots to the head...) 

Is thy mind... pondering other things? 

Deeper things... 

Meaningful things! 

Or is it, au contraire... 

lost meandering in nether regions, 

losing its way instead? 

Is it to be found...

in the gutter, for example? 

Has it lost its redeeming qualities - 

such as wit, flair, ability to find 

just the right thing to say - 

no matter what the circumstances 

may be...? 

Is your mind simply... absent, momentarily? 

Concentrating but a fraction of its power 

on the vital functions of thy body - 

such as breathing... 

in and out... 

nothing much else! 

Or is your mind too concentrated on 

a particular task at hand: 

such as imitating 

(that which is, incidentally, 

the sincerest form of flattery! 

Hear that, Breeders? 

But that's another story...) 

Ou, talvez... 

(desculpa o Português agora, gentinha...) 

is your gentle soul and fine mind 

simply... gone on a creative tangent, 

not to be disturbed just yet? 

Is your mind...  worried? 

Maybe it's got the jitters now? 

Is it... lost in thought, 

of all kinds - mingling past, present 

and future - joyfully and without 

much of a logic to it, 

at all...? 

Is your mind... AWOL? 

Is it having odd, 

very much David Lynch-like moments 

for no particular reason at all? 

Is your mind... NUMB? 

Is it... dead? 

Have you truly 

LOST YOUR MIND...? 

Or is your mind going... 

rebellious, instead? 

Is lust taking over your mind? 

Or is it greed instead...? 

(Or any other of the Seven Sins - dammit!) 

Envy - is that envy 

on your mind, now? 

WHERE HAS YOUR 

MILLENNIAL MIND 

GONE TO NOW...

But we could ask ourselves this simple question, now more than ever:
what, with all that craze about 2012, the Mayan calendar, Edgar Cayce prophecies, 11/11/11, the Antichrist and whatever Nostradamus had to say about the whole damn thing...

Hey - it all dawned on us NOW - income tax season 2011 (how fitting) - when will the craziness all end?!?

You are MANY - so many - to ask the exact same question...
